The Akon "White Party" was a show you didn't want to miss!
With everyone decked out in all white Akon brought the house down singing all
his biggest hits. Akon really connected with the Hong Kong crowd leaving the stage to perform in the mist of his excited fans help up only by his beefy body guards.
IS This for real!!??? supposingly this is Kanye's trash thrown out. Hmmm Makes me wonder what's inside! Then i wonder how much each trash bag would cost! lol... Must be some expensive garbage...
Went out to NY last week and was really amazed how close in relations it is to Hong Kong! The two cities are very fast past, people everywhere, Subways, great food, taxis taxis taxis! Even though the trip was short lived I had a great time.
One of the major influences of One Man Stand is symbolism. This video is of thinker and philosopher Michael Tsarion, one of the most interesting people of our times. He discusses symbols, and how they have been a part of humans since the beginning, how they effect us and how they are used to control. It is a 10 part video, and it is definitely worth watching.
One Man Stand encourages symbol literacy, and what these images and logos truly stand for, because some symbols are truly not what they seem. Now you may ask why this is important information. Take a second and think of all the items you have used today since you woke up. Now think of all those brands that sold you those items. What comes to mind? What makes you remember it? The "branding", the symbols for what it stands for.
Here is a piece that I have always questioned and probably greets some of us daily. I have realized that it is on most food and cleaning products. Take a look at the logo of Unilever.
Lot's of crazy stuff going on. You'll find this label in any bathtub or kitchen in America. What is it all about? And if it's on food and cleaning products, what exactly then are we feeding ourselves? What energy are these logos calling upon? One thing is, with so many symbols, it must be a jumble of things. We will cover more as we unfold each icon, piece by piece.

One Man Stand is an urban / street wear line that was founded by two very good friends who knew each other since early college days at FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising), Brandon Palma and James Stewart III. With a combined background of graphic design, brand devolopement, manufacturing, and marketing, we agreed to join up to create something new for the world. We started meeting up on idea and focusing on an energy path for a lifestyle brand that would be consciously different and inspiring, and that would have the capacity to grow to touch various creative outputs.
We are excited to start this journey and are forever grateful for this opportunity to turn people's minds on in a creative way!
